Overview of Blogging Niches
Infinite Possibilities
Today’s blogging tips for Profitable blog is a really good one. It’s a super requested blog and it’s all about blogging niches. What’s the best blog you need to get into? What’s the best blogging niche that makes the most amount of money? My opinions on blogging niches, and so we’re really just diving deep, getting into the blogging niches.
Popular vs. Less Popular Niches
First things first, there are a million different blogging niches and I truly believe that one of the best things about blogging is that no matter what you have a blog about, you can be extremely successful. Like it could be the most popular niche in the world, or it could be the least popular niche in the world, and you could still make money from it.
Encouragement for Unique Niches
However, there’s a reason that there are the most popular niches versus other niches, because some do simply just make a lot more. Disclaimer before I get into this is that there truly is a million and five different niches that you could choose.
Popular Blogging Niches
Top Niches
So if you’re not in this niche, or if you have a different idea on a niche that you want to get into that isn’t in this blog, go for it. You can be super strategic with how you implement affiliate marketing and other things to make money from it. But again, there are reasons why some niches are more popular than other niches in the blogging world.
List of Popular Niches
First up, let’s go over these popular blogging niches. This was fully done in my brain with what I have seen in the past to be the most successful with just other bloggers I followed. What I see to be the most popular, and I think you’ll probably agree with me. I mean, this isn’t rocket science. We see these blogs pop up everywhere.
Key to Blogging Success
Honing in on Obsessions
Every single one of those has its pros and cons, obviously as in every single business. These are the ones that you will see most often, and that is because the key to being successful in the blogging world is to hone in on people’s obsessions.
Examples of Obsessions
And so you got to think about what your obsessions are because you’re going to need to write about it for a really long time. But also, what are other people’s obsessions? Because people spend money on things that they are obsessed with. For me, when you’re going to college, you are obsessed with going to college.
Capitalizing on Obsessions
People in the fashion industry—Sarah, for example, my right hand in this blogging world—she is obsessed with fashion. She follows so many fashion bloggers. Parenting blogs—you’re obsessed with your kids. Food blogs—people are obsessed with food. Finance—when you’re into your money, you get obsessed with it.
Ebbs and Flows of Niches
Seasonal Niches
And so like for our blogging courses, for Perfecting Blogging and Perfecting Pinterest, I constantly used the idea of a cat blog. I really think that that’s a really good blog idea, because when people are getting cats, they’re obsessed with their cat.
Capitalizing on Seasonal Trends
I also have found in just me doing this that another thing that has been really helpful in my niche, and something that I didn’t necessarily think about, is the ebbs and flows of it. So again, this is another thing that you could argue is really just opinion-based and what I’ve experienced in this blogging world and my personal experience.
Leveraging Holidays
When people are going to college, our high is in the summer, because that’s all that people are thinking about. That’s the normal time people go to college—August. So those pre-months prior to them going to college, our affiliate sales skyrocket, our views skyrocket. But in January, no one cares.
Passion and Authenticity
Passion Shows in Writing
And so we have been able to really capitalize on those ebbs and flows. It’s also thinking about holidays and how you can capitalize on that. That’s been able to generate more buying power in that sense.
Final Takeaways
Takeaway 1: Blog About Anything
And I do think that your passion for something shows through what you’re writing. It will never make sense to me, the people that start a niche on something they don’t know about.
Takeaway 2: Hone in on Obsessions
So basically in all of that, there are three takeaways. First takeaway: you can blog about anything and be successful. Truly, I 100% believe that and stand behind that.
Takeaway 3: Be Interested in Your Niche
Two, hone in on people’s obsessions. That is the key to really starting a successful blog. Get obsessed with what people are obsessed with, and what you’ve been obsessed with.
Long-Term Passion
And then three, you actually have to be interested in what your niche is. There’s so much more to life than just money and making money from your blog.
